Are your corporate assets safe?
Threats to your corporate assets come in many forms that are characterized as colored wolves in our book “Wolves Sheep, and Sheepdogs: A Leader’s Guide To Information Security.”
The gray wolf, commonly known as the “hacktivist” exists to upset the proverbial applecart. They are anarchists who prey on organizations for little more than notoriety.
In early 2012, the CIA’s public-facing homepage was defaced by political hactivists.
Gray wolves are technically astute and intelligent, but are often underfunded. They generally work for a political or social goal, rather than a monetary one. For example, WikiLeaks has a stated goal of gathering information for the greater good.
Even though gray wolves are not engaged in national acts of war, they still pose serious threats to both government and private sector organizations.
Each colored wolf is a unique threat that needs to be stopped.
